UFC On Fox: Dos Anjos Vs. Cerrone 2 Recap; Will Conor McGregor Challenge The Winner?

The latest UFC on Fox last Saturday highlighted some power punches with quality finishes. Dos Anjos dismantled challenger Cerrone on their second meeting with an official time of 66 seconds.

Cerrone put up some form of defense and counters with a desperate takedown attempt but all of them are nothing for the defending lightweight champ as he expertly took down the challenger. According to Bloody Elbow, this is the first title defense for dos Anjos after his upset win over Anthony Pettis on UFC 185.

The co-main event was also just as vicious as Alistair Overeem handed Junior dos Santos his 4th loss in his career. In a report by MMA Mania, Overeem knocked out the former heavyweight champion with a powerful hook in the second round.

The win of Dos Anjos quickly turned to the challenge made by McGregor to the eventual winner of the lightweight contest. Sherdog reported that Conor McGregor, who recently posted a 13-second victory over Jose Aldo, is also targeting the lightweight division - without vacating his current featherweight division.

He revealed his plans for winning the second belt during his press conference after his victory on UFC 194. Dos Anjos was asked about the plan of McGregor on fighting him in his division and was quick to warn the current champ that the lightweight is his division, according to ESPN piece on dos Anjos' victory.

Aside from a warning from dos Anjos on McGregor, another challenger was very keen in taking the champ in the feather weight division. Nate Diaz also dismantled Michael Johnson on the same night and immediately issued an expletive laden challenge to McGregor.

There is no official announcement from UFC on McGregor's next opponent. However, Pundit Arena reports that the featherweight champ has three options: a rematch with Aldo, a title defense with a different fighter or a match against the current lightweight champion.
