Lee Soo Hyuk Discusses Professional Failures And Lessons He's Learned Along The Way

Model-turned-actor Lee Soo Hyuk relaxed in style for the January issue of Marie Claire. The star lounged in a modern apartment while presenting designer combinations by brands like Rick Owens and Haider Ackermann.

During the interview, Lee revealed that he was insecure about his acting abilities when he began his career.

"I should have studied and practiced more before I stood in front of the audience as an actor." He admitted. "That's why I didn't take on any projects for a year once [the KBS2 drama] Shark was over. I built up my body as I worked out, I put on some weight and I practiced acting and it was a time of change for me."

Lee also discussed the first professional failure he faced.

He reminisced, "I debuted as a model when I was 17 and I was lucky to receive so much love. I was confident about myself and I went to Paris with the intention to stand on stage during Paris collection shows. I spent more than a month over there in order to go to casting sessions, but none of them worked out."

However, Lee didn't give up on his dream!

He added, "The fact that I didn't get to have my start in the Paris collection shows was something I felt sad about, even after I started acting. That's why I went back to Paris to try once again to walk the runway, while taking a break from acting for a year...Fortunately, I was able to join five shows including the one for Balenciaga, Balmain and Juun.J."
