Over the weekend, rumors swirled that popular actor Kang Dong Won could be joining YG Entertainment as one of its exclusive talents.
Kang Dong Won's contract under UAA expired back in November 2015 so there has been a lot of interest on which top agency will be lucky enough to sign him.
"Kang Dong Won has pondered stand-alone management forms like a one-person agency, but in order to have secure acting promotions, he decided to receive the support of a management company. He plans to have a contract after he mediates details like contract payment and length of time," an anonymous insider reportedly disclosed, according to Allkpop.
While other entertainment companies have offered him "large amounts of money" in order to woo him into joining, the 34-year-old actor is said to have warmed up to YG Entertainment due as he believes they can provide him with "stability," reports The Korea Herald.
Kang Dong Won has been nominated for and won multiple Best Actor and Most Popular Actor awards over the past decade for dramas and movies such as Temptation of Wolves, Duelist, Secret Reunion and most recently Kundo: Age of the Rampant.
YG has been bolstering its acting roster, establishing its acting division YG Stage and courting the likes of Cha Seung Won and Choi Ji Woo.
