After Fleeing Court-Mandated Rehab, Lindsay Lohan Checks Into Betty Ford Center And Avoids Arrest Warrant

Lindsay Lohan left rehab on Thursday, after a court-mandated 90-day lockdown stint was assigned for two misdemeanor convictions and a probation violation finding in March. But after spurring a lock-down rehab unit in New York for reportedly not allowing cigarettes at the facility, the former Parent Trap star flew back to California on Thursday to enter Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, California. That didn't last either.

According to US Magazine, she checked out after just minutes because it was just "not suitable for her ... There were too many paparazzi everywhere and she didn't feel safe. Nobody close to her is happy about this. They think she's really not being smart," a source reports.

Now, Radaronline is reporting that Lohan has checked into the Betty Ford Clinic just minutes before her midnight court deadline in an effort to avoid another extended jail stay.

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, convinced prosecutors to let her return to Southern California and to check into a rehab facility, but not Morningside Recovery.

"Lindsay went back to rehab last night, and arrived before midnight. Lindsay ISN'T back at Morningside. Her former attorney, Shawn Holley, was officially brought back on the case yesterday after Lindsay was calling her all day Thursday. Shawn was able to convince prosecutors that Lindsay was taking rehab seriously, but her former attorney, Mark Heller, bungled everything," a source close to Lohan Radar

In a Thursday filled with reports about Lohan's whereabouts, she told the staff at Morningside Recovery she didn't need rehab while her now-former attorney, Mark Heller, was telling Los Angeles County Superior Country Court Judge James R. Dabney that "My client is ensconced in the bosom of that facility right now. She's in rehab right now. Nothing bad is going to happen."

The New York Daily News reports that Lohan didn't even step inside Morningside Recovery, but instead went shopping at an electronics store nearby.

Holley and prosecutors are expected back in front of Judge Dabney today in an effort to catch him up to date on all the latest developments. Prosecutors are not expected to issue an arrest warrant  since the embattled actress did make it to rehab before the midnight deadline.

"Right now, Lindsay is focused on getting better. She wanted the drama to end, and that is why she fired Mark Heller. She was literally telling Shawn she would sell a body part if she would take her on as a client again. Shawn agreed, and Lindsay appreciates everything she has done for her. When Shawn says jump, Lindsay will automatically do so," the source revealed.
