Houston Bush International Airport: Shooter Fires Gunshots Then Shoots Himself WIth Bullet[VIDEO]

A gunman walked into Bush Intercontinental Airport with an AR-15 Thursday afternoon and fired at two shots before shooting himself. The gunshots had people in the terminal scrambling and screaming.

The tragedy occurred in the ticket area, inside Terminal B around 1:35 p.m.

A witness, a McDonald's employee, said
"As soon as he walked in, he just automatically started shooting quickly. And we hear two shots and we just automatically started running. We ran all the way to the back."

Homeland Security shot him at the same time the man shot truned the gun on himself.

The shooter was a 29-year-old Houston-area resident. He had been staying in a hotel the last few days. They found a suicide note on his body.

He died from his own bullet. No one else was injured but passengers and employees were shaken by the shooting.

Witness Dale Howard, who was at the airport to pick up his sister for a family funeral, said
"Right off the bat, there were two shots, about an eight to 10-second delay, two more shots, a short delay, then a fifth shot."

Greg Newburn, who was in the terminal waiting for a flight to Oklahoma City, said he was sitting in a cafe area when he heard two gunshots and after a pause, several more.

"It seemed like quite a few shots. Everyone was scrambling, running left and running right, turning tables up and hiding behind tables. Nobody knew what was happening. I couldn't tell where the shots were coming from," he said.

Terminal B was closed for more than three hours while police investigated the shooting scene. Darian Ward, a spokeswoman for the Houston Airport System, said passengers who were scheduled to leave from Terminal B were being rerouted to other terminals.

They found one bullet in the ceiling at the terminal. Bomb-sniffing dogs and
The FBI are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted Friday.
