If a cat has nine lives, then, is it possible that Sgt. German Bosque, a Miami cop who, according to CBS4 television in Miami is the most fired, fined, and disciplined officer in the state of Florida, has one more life than a cat?

Bosque, who has been fired eight times from three different police departments, has been charged with leaving his assault weapon with his girlfriend's father, a trained security guard, while on an eight-day leave, according to CBS4.

According to the Opa-locka Police Department, which presented its case to dismiss him in front of an arbitration officer on Wednesday, leaving an assault weapon in someone else's hands is against all police policy.

CBS4 reported that at Bosque's hearing, City Attorney Joe Geller said, "We're here on a very simple matter. It's going to be up to the arbitrator. We think what the officer did was wrong."

Geller argued that Bosque violated the department's policy that an officer's weapon should be secured at all times.

But, the Miami cop keeps getting rehired to his job despite his alleged vices. According to the Miami Herald, Bosque has beaten back a long list of head-turning charges, including: beating up juveniles, calling in sick while on vacation, falsifying reports, stealing from suspects, possession of dope and alcohol in his squad car, and other offenses.

"It's allegations. Allegations are not convictions," said Bosque's union-provided attorney, Andrew Axelrad told the television station. "We have a system in place, and that system is a fair system."

To hear Bosque tell it, he just loves his job. "I love serving the community. I love what I do for a living, and I'm very proud," he said.

Bosque's attorney said that the AR-15 was in good hands because the father of his girlfriend was a security guard.  "Anyone can legally purchase this weapon," his attorney told CBS.

"This is not your buttons aren't shining. This is not your shoes weren't polished. This is not you did not snap the salute crisply ... This is an assault weapon capable of firing multiple high-velocity rounds,'' Geller said.
