Carolyn Moos, the ex-fiancee to gay NBA star Jason Collins, isn't sure that having kids will be such a slam dunk for her. Moos said she is freezing her eggs because her eight-year relationship with Collins took place during her best years to have a baby and she is worried her relationship with the NBA star will prevent her from finding another man in time.

Moos said she planned to get married to Collins and have a family together, but was crushed when the NBA star ended their relationship in 2009 and recently revealed that he's gay. She decided to freee her eggs because she's concerned that she may not meet the right man until she's too old to conceive.

"So many women think about this as a plan or option ... but few have had 8 years taken away from them like I did," she said to TMZ.

Moos said the procedure will cost about $10,000, but is hopeful that a production company interested in filming her journey for a documentary will foot the bill. It's unclear if she has had any offers at this point.

Earlier this week, Moos declared that she had no idea he was gay until he gave her a courtesy call to break the news just day before his Sports Illustrated cover and article were revealed.

"I had to sit down. It's very emotional for me as a woman to have invested [eight] years in my dream to have a husband, soul mate, and best friend in him. So this is all hard to understand," she said. "I was shocked. There's no words to really describe my reaction... But this does alleviate some of the pain."

Collins was dropped by the Washington Wizards due to performance reasons and will remain a free agent until July 1, when he will look to be drafted by another NBA team. His announcement has been received with almost unanimous support from the NBA and general basketball community.
