Sports Anchor Susannah Collins Fired Over On-Air Fruedian Slip; Comcast SportsNet Chicago Confirmed Firing Today

An on-air Freudian slip has cast Comcast SportsNet Chicago anchor Susannah Collins her job. The firing was confirmed today, following an on-air slip that Collins made this past Tuesday while covering the "success" this season of NHL team Chicago Blackhawks. The Comcast SportsNet Chicago anchor slipped, and Collins instead said that the Blackhawks had experienced a "tremendous amount of sex."

Phil Bedella, vice president and general manager of Comcast SportsNet Chicago, said that the firing was "due to circumstances" unrelated to Collins' on-air slip about the Blackhawks.

"We appreciate everything Susannah has contributed to our network over the past year and wish her the best in her future endeavors," said Bedella in a statement.

It was reported that CSN could have potentially had an issue with her participation in "Sports Nutz," a web series that often addressed racially and sexually provocative subject manners. However, Collins had been open about her participation with the series long before she was ever hired by CSN. According to CBS Chicago, she is a lifelong Illinois native who grew up in Downers Grove and graduated from the University of Illinois.

Two weeks ago, A.J. Clemente was fired from a North Dakota television station after his debut as an anchor, when he let loose a stream of profanity without realizing that he was on the air. He has since gained widespread internet fame and even done the morning talk show rounds over his slip.

Clemente said that he would now like to move Hollywood and is about to embark on a nationwide Second Chance Radio Tour, which he hopes will yield offers from around the country.
