'Brown Eyed Boys' LC9 Disband In Way 'Everyone Saw Coming'

A month after their contract expired, LC9 officially disbanded.

Nega Network, the agency under which LC9 debuted, released a statement on Jan. 23 through the group's official fancafe. The disbandment came three years after LC9 debuted, but according to one former member was predictable.

"Everyone saw this coming," wrote former LC9 member Eden Park on his official Twitter account.

Park left LC9 prior to their official disbandment, to focus on his studies in Canada.

The official release from Nega Network regarding the group's end revealed LC9's contracts had expired on Dec. 21, and were not renewed.

Nega Network thanked all the men who had been part of LC9 over the years, and also expressed thanks for the support of fans.

The group debuted in 2013, alongside more than 50 other K-pop acts. At the time of their debut, LC9 raised expectations and were dubbed "Brown Eyed Boys," as the follow-up to Nega Networks popular act Brown Eyed Girls.

Reports of LC9's disbandment had been long coming, due to the group's lack of promotions. Since their debut in 2013 with the well-received "Mama Beat" featuring Brown Eyed Girls' Ga-In, LC9 only released one single, "East of Eden."

Nega Network didn't reveale the plans of the members, aside from Eden and member Rasa who is currently serving in the military.

"So apparently LC9 disbanded," wrote Park on Sunday. "Honestly everyone saw this coming. I just wanna thank the fans that supported and the members for being awesome."
