ZE:A Im Siwan 'A Coveted Idol' By Movie Industry

ZE:A's Im Siwan is developing into a serious actor as he gains more momentum with more roles in film.

Im Siwan was recently cast as the main character for the upcoming short film, "Mi Sang," originally based on a popular online cartoon. He will begin the shoot this June.

The 10-minute film will  be about an aspiring Baduk-similar to chess-player who ends up giving up his dreams to go pro and gets a corporate temporary position instead. The online cartoon is created by Yoon Tae Ho who is famous for "Algae" which was also made into a movie.

Also, Im Siwan will be making his debut on the big screen in "The Defender," which features Song Gang Ho.

"The Defender" is about a civil rights lawyer back in the 1980s when the military regime wielded its weapons to abuse the freedom and democracy of the frenzied Korea. The character played by Im Siwan, a college student who experiences the downfall of civil rights through personal tragedy, was coveted by many actors as it is a high-impact role that ends up transforming the main character, Song Gang Ho. In the end, Im Siwan came out on top.

Though Im Siwan has proven his acting skills on the small screen through "The Moon that Embraces the Sun" and other quality works, his debut in the film industry is an accomplishment as an idol star. His future is becoming increasingly brighter as he continues to silence the critics and turn them into fans.
