SM Entertainment Introduces New Boy Band Setup And Weekly Releases
The K-pop megahouse introduced a new project system for a new style of boy band. NCT will be a localized group with "unlimited" members that will rotate in and out, and collaborate with different NCT groups throughout the world. The goal, according to SM, is to localize K-pop by bringing idols to the audiences.
The company also announced a new digital channel called STATION, through which SM Entertainment will release a new song each week. First up is Taeyeon's "Rain," which will be released this week.
Jack Black Appears on Korean Variety Show
The American comedic actor spoke to Ellen Degeners on her show this week about what it was like appearing on Korea's "Infinite Challenge." The star discussed what it was like appearing on what he perceived as an out of this world show, which happens to be number one in South Korea. He is one of the only Western celebrities to appear on "Infinite Challenge."
The episode aired on Saturday, and featured Jack Black competing against the other contestants and trying his hand at singing an EXO song.
SM Entertainment Denies Girls' Generation's Tiffany's Latest Relationship Rumors
Last week, local Korean outlets reported that Girls' Generation's Tiffany was in a relationship with AOMG rapper Gray. The reports initially stated that the pair had been dating for three months, but SM Entertainment denied the claim and said that the two were just friends but because of Tiffany's laid-back, American attitude it appeared to outsiders that their relationship was more intimate.
Following SM's denials, AOMG also issued a statement reaffirming the fact that the two are not in a relationship.
