Pungdeng-E To Bring A Dose Of K-Pop To Hawaii's Largest Anime Convention

An upcoming anime convention and Japanese culture festival in Hawaii will have a little sampling of K-pop.

K-pop girl group Pungdeng-E are set to make an appearance at Kawaii Kon 2016.

The 12th Kawaii Kon, Hawaii's largest anime convention, will take place on the weekend of April 8 to 10 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Though their profile on the event's official website doesn't say what day Pungdeng-E will be appearing at the festival, or if they will perform or take part in panels, the people behind Kawaii Kon guarantee that the group will bring their bright energy and charms.

Pungdeng-E are a kitschy trio comprised of Heejin "Red", Gahee "Blue" and Eunbi "Yellow" with a "satori concept," meaning that each member represents a regional dialect of South Korea. If they do sing at the event, attendees are sure to see the trio's hit songs "Baechu Bossam" and "PPIPPIPPAPPA" performed live.

Kawaii Kon 2016 will also host a panel discussion titled The Pop Pacific: Introduction to J-Pop and K-Pop. The experts will talk about genres of J-pop and K-pop, popular acts, and the role of entertainment agencies in the market.

Tickets for Kawaii Kon are currently on sale and is open to all ages.
