Singer Insooni's side denied all accusations regarding the singer's alleged tax evasion.
On Wednesday, veteran singer Insooni (Kim In Soon) responded to charges made by Park Young Mi after Park submitted tax evasion-related charges against Insooni at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office. Park's charges accused Insooni of tax evasion of nearly $5 billion KRW (around $4 millions USD.)
"Insooni has not received a formal complaint," said Insooni's representative reports Sports Seoul. "We have never evaded taxes and do not acknowledge any part of the claims made by Park."
"From 2005 to 2007, Insooni evaded taxes on her income by using an alternate bank account under another name," said Park in the charge.
Park also said that the case was previously looked into by Seoul authorities, resulting in a fine of 800 million KRW (around $666,000 USD).
"She also omitted information during an inquiry in 2008 by the Seoul Regional National Tax Service."
Park Young Mi is the wife of singer Choi Sung Soo. The accusations came after Insooni borrowed 2.3 billion KRW (around $1.9 million USD) from Park to purchase an apartment in Mark Hills, one of the most expensive apartment buildings in South Korea, reports Korea Kyeongkye TV.
Insane made her debut as a singer in 1978 as a member of the group "Hee Sisters," and is known for her R&B songs and being active for more than 35 years. She is recognized at breaking boundaries by being the first Korean-African American singer to gain popularity in South Korea.
