Unlike musical groups that are formed out of friendship or childhood, K-pop groups have the distinct position of being company trainees for many years before debut. During their trainee days is often when K-pop group members inevitably become close as they spend almost every waking hour training, eating, and even living together.
It's no wonder then that the boys of WINNER have become a very close-knit group.
In fact, WINNER recently showed their closeness in their official "Ask in a Box" interview. The group showed their closeness through several questions and activities, including a drawing challenge, questions about each member's habits, and a Peppero game between members Nam Taehyun and Song Minho. Fans can check out the new interview below.
The first hint of WINNER's closeness came in the form of a question about how many pairs of shoes that member Kang Seungyoon owned. At first Seungyoon denied it, only to be questioned by the members about the 30 pairs of shoes in front of his door as well as the pairs in his room. Based on the quick response, it appears that the members of WINNER are well aware of each other's habits and likes.
One question was asked about the closeness between Taehyun and Seungyoon, to which Seungyoon clarified that they're close, but also all of the members are close with each other.
"All of us in WINNER have good friendships. All of the members are so close to each other," said Seungyoon.
Perhaps the closest moment for WINNER during the interview was Taehyun and Minho's rendition of the Peppero game, where despite reluctance, both members were able to shrink the stick of chocolate to a very small size. Seunghoon then joked that the pair shared an even closer friendship than the group members.
"I believe you feel special love toward each other. Mission accomplished based on special love," said Seunghoon.
WINNER is currently promoting their 2016 comeback album "EXIT: E," which features title tracks "Baby Baby" and "Sentimental."
