As the hit NBC show The Office winds down towards its final episode, the big question fans of the show are asking is, "Will Steve Carell appear in the show's finale?"

Apparently, he will.

After weeks of no comments, flat out "no's" and vague hints of a nondisclosure agreement, TVLine reports that Steve Carell is returning to the NBC comedy for the one-hour series finale on Thursday, May 16.

TVLine reports that Carell's appearance is more of a cameo then a guest spot.

After it was reported that Carell was on set when "The Office" finale was filmed, he made a surprise appearance at "The Office" wrap party in Scranton, PA of Saturday, May 4, further fueling speculation.

NBC put out a press release of the finale that reveals the Dunder Mifflin crew will gather for a reunion and a wedding. It is as follows:

"THE OFFICE SAYS GOODBYE IN ITS ONE HOUR SERIES FINALE-GUEST STARRING MINDY KALING, BJ NOVAK, RACHAEL HARRIS, DAKOTA JOHNSON, JOAN CUSACK, ED BEGLEY JR., MALCOLM BARRETT, MATT JONES, ANDY BUCKLEY, MIKE SCHUR, BOBBY RAY SHAFER-Months after the airing of the documentary, the workers of Dunder Mifflin, past and present, gather for a wedding and a final round of interviews. Mysteries are solved, hatchets are buried, pranks are prunked. Also starring Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Catherine Tate, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nuñez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, Creed Bratton, Craig Robinson, Ellie Kemper, Clark Duke, and Jake Lacy."

It doesn't tell us much, other than allowing for fans to consider who will be getting married. Will Carell finally be walking down the aisle with Holly, his long-time love interest? What will happen to all of the great characters of the long-playing show, originally produced in England for the BBC by the comedian, Ricky Gervais and his writing partner, Stephen Merchant?

The Office has been on the air in the United States since March 24, 2005.
