Tahiti Kick Off Single Album Crowdfunding Campaign

Tahiti is the latest K-pop group using the innovative method of crowdfunding their album after the recent success of Laboum and their crowdfunded music video.

On Feb. 23, Tahiti created a campaign on crowdfunding website Makestar, where they asked fans to help fund their next single by donating money. In return, those that donated get special rewards based on the amount they gave.

Tahiti's funding goal is set to $8,126, and are currently 46 percent away from reaching their goal, even though they only began their crowdfunding campaign earlier this week. So far 25 people have supported the campaign and there are 67 days remaining for them to reach their goal.

The rewards range from a simple thank you email to an exclusive Seoul day trip with the members of Tahiti.

To get the Seoul day trip, one must donate $406.40 towards the campaign.

Other rewards include a signed CD, Tahiti slogan towel, being listed as an honorary producer on the album, a photo card set of all members, an unreleased photobook, Tahiti miniature figurines, and a personalized Tahiti video message.

Tahiti's crowdfunding campaign is the latest in a series of groups that have used Makestar to fund their albums. Stellar, Laboum, and Blady have all been successful in reaching crowdfunding goals for their previous album.
