Illness Forces Younha To Take A Break From The Spotlight

Younha has canceled all singing activities due to personal medical problems.

On Feb. 23, the singer uploaded a post on her personal blog regarding the issue. She first apologized to fans for a recent performance on an episode of Sugarman, where her viewers noticed her voice had changed significantly.

In the post, she clarifies that she has not been able to sing as well as she could in the past due to a deviated nasal septum, which has gotten worse over the past two years.

She also stated that although there is a procedure to fix her condition, she currently does not have time to undergo surgery.

"I can't do the surgery in my current situation, because it will take some time to get my vocals back to normal again after having surgery," the "1, 2, 3" singer said.

Younha also clarified that she is thankful for all the fans who have supported her through such a long absence and expressed her wishes to pull through and release her fifth album after an undetermined resting period.

"I don't know how long it will take, but I will refind my voice as quickly as possible and take my place on stage once again," she adds. "All of my current appearances have been canceled. It was difficult to turn down offers for events and shows, but I don't want to give a disappointing performance for people to remember."

However, Younha assures fans that she will be hard at work during that period of time. "Although I won't be able to sing for a while, I will create a lot of new music to put on my fifth album."

Younhae previously made a comeback in Nov. 2015, with the single "Thinking About You."
