BTS Member Kim Taehyung To Make Acting Debut In Historical Drama 'Hwarang'

The star-studded cast of Hwarang has another celebrity addition.

Kim Taehyung, also known as "V," of male idol group Bangtan Boys (BTS), will make his acting debut in the historical drama "Hwarang: The Beginning."

On Feb. 23, a broadcast insider confirmed the casting, stating, "V has been confirmed as being cast in the drama. This is his first ever acting project."

Other stars already confirmed for the show include Park Seo Joon and Go Ara as leads, and ZE:A's Hyungsik and Shinee's Minho in other roles. With the addition of Taehyung to the cast, the drama has added another idol to its roster.

Taehyung is the first member of his group to land an acting role in a drama. Since this is his first work and the announcement is so sudden, fans of Bangtan Boys flooded the original article with comments expressing their disbelief

Filming for the drama will begin in the first half of 2016 and begin airing in the second half of 2016 on KBS 2TV.
