Kim Hyun Joong Begins Fighting For Legal Custody Of His Son

Representatives of Kim Hyung Joong say that the the 29-year-old singer wants to raise his child himself.

On Feb. 26, Kim Hyun Joong's lawyer began the first lawsuit regarding custody of Kim Hyun Joong's son between him or his ex-girlfriend, known as Ms. Choi.

In a courtroom, both legal teams of Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend argued on the issues of child support and custody, after it was recently proven that the child is, in fact, the idol's son through a DNA test. Kim Hyun Joong's side stated that Ms. Choi has no legal right to sue them.

According to Kim Hyun Joong's lawyer, Kim wants to have the rights "if the opposing side (Ms. Choi) files for custody, then the defendant (Kim Hyun Joong) will do the same."

In response, the judge stated, "We are currently checking the legitimacy of the child-rearing expenses that the defendant is referring to. The issue of custody is a matter that both sides can negotiate with each other."

The case will continue on April 8 as the judge previously issued a court order.

Kim Hyun Joong was proven to be the father of his ex-girlfriend's son after taking a DNA test, which matched him as the father with 99.9999 percent certainy.
