The newest member of DIA is generating interest in the K-pop girl group's upcoming new release.
On Monday, March 7, a statement from MBK Entertainment, DIA's agency, explained why the group added another member.
"Since members Cathy and Chaeyeon have both temporarily left the group to participate on the cable show ‘Produce 101,’ we have reorganized the group and recruited a new member to fill the vacant spot," read the statement, as reported by Soompi.
The position was filled by 18-year-old Chaewon, who will get to know fans when the group makes their official comeback this spring. Meanwhile, Cathy and Chaeyeon are expected to resume promotions with the group once Produce 101 finishes.
DIA consists members Seunghee, Eunice, Cathy, Jenny, Yebin, Eunjin, Chaeyeon and now Chaewon. DIA is short for "Diamond" and is an acronym for "Do It Amazing." They made their debut on September 14, 2015, with album titled Do It Amazing.
"Somehow" was the album's title track, and was composed by Shinsadong Tiger.
