New Photos Show BTS's V in Military Uniform, Idol Is Visibly Bulked Up

BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has once again captured the attention of fans worldwide with newly surfaced photos showing him wearing his military uniform.

The images were initially posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Feb. 19 and quickly spread across various online platforms. In the images, V is seen wearing his military uniform and striking his signature "V" pose. The idol also had a noticeably bulked-up physique.

The photo was allegedly taken by an acquaintance of the fan, who encountered V at Chuncheon Lotteria in December last year. The post has since been deleted, but other profiles have re-shared the photos online.

V's new photos have been well-received by online users, with one fan writing: "Every time he shows up, it's like a breath of fresh air. Like an oasis in a desert. Like a super bright star in the sky."

The photos come after V posted an update on Weverse, in which he revealed that he now weighs 72.5 kg. Prior to enlistment, the BTS member weighed only around 62 kg. He said he aims to reach 86 kilograms while serving in the military.

Since enlisting in December 2023, V has been serving in the Special Duty Team (SDT), an elite unit focusing on counter-terrorism and special operations under the Army's 2nd Corps. His assignment to this prestigious unit came after a rigorous selection process, which included demanding document screenings, interviews, and physical fitness tests.

V is scheduled to be discharged on June 10. He is one of the five remaining BTS members still serving in the military—Suga, who enlisted in September 2023; and RM, Jungkook, and Jimin, who started their service in December 2023. They are all also expected to be discharged in June.

Two BTS members have been discharged: Jin, who completed his service in June 2024, and J-Hope, who finished his military stint in October last year.

The members are expected to reunite and resume group activities once everyone has completed their military service.
