On Saturday, Mar. 5, a 17-second teaser for KCON 2016 dropped.
As another year begins, so does the hype for the next Hallyu convention in 2016.
Flashing images of performers and fans from the past events, the graphics and the soundtrack of the video brings back the excitement of what's yet to come in the incoming days.
Ending the video with "Stay Tuned 3.10.16," it looks like the people behind KCON are giving a heads up to fans across the U.S. that the event is indeed coming back for another year.
First kicking off Los Angeles in 2012 and attended by 10,000 fans, KCON has been the center of bringing all things Hallyu. From the culture and entertainment, the convention brought together everything.
In 2013, more than 20,000 people attended with performances by Big Bang's G-Dragon, EXO, Crayon Pop, Dynamic Duo, f(x), Teen Top and 2AM. KCON 2014 was even bigger with 40,000 fans in attendance as more workshops, panels and activities were made available. K-pop acts like Girls' Generation, CNBLUE, G-Dragon, B1A4, Teen Top, VIXX took the stage.
Just last year, KCON was brought to both coasts of the U.S. in Los Angeles and Newark, NJ. The L.A. convention expanded to three days and attracted 58,000 fans along with artists like GOT7, SISTAR, Shinhwa, AOA, Zion.T & Crush performing. While Newark garnered 17,000 fans in attendance and had Girls' Generation, AOA, VIXX and Teen Top perform for their first KCON.
