After parting ways with her girl group, former KARA member Kang Jiyoung will be making her international debut as JY with the help of Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
On Friday, Mar. 18, JY will be dropping her first solo EP titled Radio, consisting of three tracks. Out of the three, two music videos have been produced and have been released on her official Vevo and YouTube channels.
London-based songwriter and producer MNEK personally worked with JY directing, coaching lyrics and recording for her solo international debut while Darren Craig directed the music video to her title track "Radio."
"Working with JY was an absolute pleasure," sad MNEK in a press release. "We spent a few days in my London studio vocal-ing both 'Radio' and 'Just Not Into You' and we got on really well. She is a great girl and true talent. I wish her all the best with these tracks and the rest!"
Originally released in Japan last month, Feb. 17, "Radio" snagged the No. 2 spot on the iTunes Pop Top Song Chart beating western artists like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.
As the former KARA member continues her music career being a pop sensation, she's back with vibes like a young Madonna and Kylie Minogue.
