After being labeled the Korean Bryson Tiller by VIBE magazine at SXSW, R&B crooner Dean dropped the music video to "bonnie & clyde" off his first EP, mood 130 : TRBL on Monday, Mar. 21 along with the announcement of the early release of the EP.
After the unfortunate news of mood 130: TRBL leaking days before its official release, DEAN and his management decided to drop the EP on Thursday, Mar. 24 instead of Friday, Mar. 25.
Dean's first EP will consist of seven tracks including four new songs and the three singles previously released. Fans are able to pre-order the EP on various music sites such as Yes24, InterPark, Hottracks and more.
Despite the wrong turn of events, fans and followers of the R&B crooner are continuously sending good vibes and great feedback to his music and the music video to "bonnie & clyde."
Just like the title of the song, the music video follows Dean and his lover in what seems to be their interpretation of the American classic Bonnie & Clyde.
Although no bank robberies were shown, the relationship between the two lovers were highlighted with scenes of them on the sofa watching a movie, driving off on a highway, and getting intimate on the side of the road.
Towards the end, Dean's female counterpart disappears out of nowhere and ends with Dean shooting himself from the television to the sofa, leaving viewers in question on who and how both parties were killed.
Outside of the successful music video release, it is safe to say the on-the-rise R&B singer has gained quite the following after taking over SXSW performing at three different shows, with Spotify's Music House being one of them. Similarly sounding like Tory Lanez and Bryson Tiller, Dean's music is highly influenced by modern American trap and R&B but adds his Korean flare for a better twist. Collaborating with western acts such as Eric Bellinger, Mila J, and Anderson.Paak in the past, Dean's name is sure to blow up soon.
