Ali Lohan, the model, is overtaking Aliana Lohan: little sister to celebrity train-wreck, Lindsay Lohan. She’s the new model for Willhelmina in New York, and she recently sat down with Women’s Wear Daily to talk about her new gig, her plans for the future and her embattled over sister, Lindsay.

She posted a link to the interview a couple times on her Twitter account yesterday after writing:
"I feel so blessed for all the great things to come"

Ali signed as a model with Wilhelmina last week so she could be in New York, telling WWD, “I was meeting with a lot of agencies and I met with Wilhelmina and that’s where I felt most comfortable, so I signed with them last week. It was all very recent. “

The svelte 19-year-old, modeled in Korea last year, and said of the country: “Everything was amazing. The shoots, the clothes, the makeup, the hair — it just blew my mind.”

Like her sister, Lindsay, Ali (short for Aliana) has tried music, but wants to remain focused on her modeling career.

“Music is always going to be a hobby of mine, but I think this [modeling] is definitely what I want to do now.”

About her more famous older sister Lindsay, Ali says she doesn’t want to live in her shadow, telling WWD “I would just like to be known as my own person. I don’t need to ride on any coattails. I just want to make my mark myself. I definitely have to prove myself — just showing up on time and doing everything that you’re supposed to do.”

But since her sister has been in the business a lot longer, despite Lindsay being just being 26 years-old, she did have some advice for her “little sis.” Of whether she receives advice from Lindsay, Ali said, “Of course. She just says the main thing is to do your best and to do what you love. We’re very close and speak very often. Well, the last time we spoke, I guess, was two weeks ago, so kind of often. But yeah, she’s awesome.”

Lindsay, just checked into rehab, where a court order says she’s not allowed to leave the grounds for the next 90 days, but Ali is planning to visit her later this month:

“Yeah, she’s in California. Yeah, so she’s there and I’m going to be visiting her at the end of the month for some family time.”

Asked if Lindsay’s sordid past has made her “weary of fame,” the recently signed model said she wants to do good with any sort of celebrity she grabs:

“I want to make the most out of the word ‘fame.’ I want to do good things with my fame, or whatever it is. I want to help and do charity work. There’s something going on in Chile right now with the water, so I think I’m going to down there in a month to help out. My grandfather worked with charities his whole entire life, and we grew up living with him. He always told me about the other side of the world and everything that’s going on. “

But being Lindsay’s little sister, isn’t a stigma to the soon to be 20-year-old model. When asked if she thought their connection would hurt her during her modeling career, Ali responded, “No, not at all. I feel like I’m Aliana and I’m just trying to work like every other model. I don’t want to be put on any platform. And I don’t think that I have been.”

Because, as Ali explained, “At the end of the day, I only trust my family. I feel that so many things have happened, but at the end of the day, they’re always going to be there for you.”
