‘Destiny 2’ Release Date; Sequel To Be Titled ‘Shattered Suns?’ Get The Latest Here!

Bungie recently revealed some updates on the highly anticipated sequel for "Destiny." Unfortunately, fans of the popular video game would have to wait until 2017 for the official release of the sequel. According to Forbes report, "'Destiny 2,' the game's first fully-fledged sequel, had been delayed until 2017..." As of this writing, there is no specific release date for the sequel. Since the game's release in 2014, Bungie released three DLCs for the popular video game: "The Dark Below" in 2014, "House of Wolves" and "Taken King" that were both released in 2015.

But all is not lost for Bungie's popular game. Even without the sequel for 2016 players can still expect something big in relation to the game. As reported by IGN, "Activision has revealed more on the future of Destiny, which will see a major expansion this year and a sequel next year."

Details on the upcoming expansion and focus on the sequel has been scarce. However, Bungie has revealed some very interesting updates that will surely affect the game. In their weekly updates, Bungie reveals, "...content release will feature a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability." The post also confirms the large expansion for 2016 and the official sequel next year. For now, simple tweaks are implemented to improve the game experience.

Tech and gaming site Techinsider has revealed a lot of information with regards to the upcoming sequel. One of the most important information revealed is the focus on micro-transactions instead of pushing for DLC. This update is big because Destiny is Activision's game that focuses on DLCs instead of pushing for faster release of the sequels. The upcoming game is tentatively titled as "Destiny 2: Shattered Suns" and the storyline will focus on a warlock named "Osiris."
