Teacher Dies Choking On A Hot dog At Cubs Game; 28 Year Year Old Doesn't Survive Choke At Wrigley Field[VIDEO]

Maureen  Oleskiewicz, a teacher, died at a Chicago Cubs baseball game by choking on a hot dog at the stadium.  She was with her brother Martin when she slumped down, gasping for air on the floor at Wrigley Field Stadium.

The language arts teacher at Independence Junior High School in Palos Heights, Chicago, was also a former student at the school. She had no idea her hot dog at a Cubs game would be her last.

She showed no sign of choking, such as pointing to her throat or trying to talk.  She just fell lifeless on the ground. Nobody at the Cubs stadium had any idea that he ordeal was due to a hot dog lodged n the woman's throat.

The 28-year-old woman was rushed to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, not far from the ballpark, and pronounced dead early Tuesday.

Margaret Oleskiewicz, the woman's mom, said, "the two were eating before the game and the next thing, she's on the floor. He didn't even know she was in distress and then she's on the floor."

You could see everyone rushing up to the top of the seating with a frantic look on their face. They performed CPR like I've never seen," Brent Olson, an eyewitness, told the Sun-Times in an e-mail.

A spokesman for the Cubs said ballpark staff and emergency personnel responded about 12:55 p.m. Maureen was taken to the hospital by a private ambulance on standby at Wrigley, said spokesman Julian Green. Martin Oleskiewicz, her brother,  remembered hearing the national anthem as his sister was rushed to the hospital.

"It's just unbelievable that she is not with us," said Margaret Oleskiewicz as she flipped through photo albums of her daughter's life. "She would announce often, 'I love my life,'" the mother said.

"There is no magic wand to fix what we cannot comprehend," District 128 Supt. Kathleen Casey stated, according to ABC. "Maureen had a positive impact on countless students, parents and colleagues. Her vibrant, positive outlook on life and her joyful nature will be missed more than words can convey."

On a positive note, Maureen was an organ donor and her vibrant, loving, heart was placed into a needy 14-year-old girl.

Becoming an organ donor is the most beautiful thing you can do while you're still alive.  You never know when a piece of meat can expire you and save someone else.
