Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's engagement is still happening, even after Liam's actor brothers, Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth, staged an intervention to end the marriage in April. 

"They want him to end the romance for good," a source told Us Weekly earlier this week after reports surfaced that Miley and Liam had recently stopped making wedding plans.

The rift in Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's nuptials allegedly stem from Liam's family. Liam Hemsworth's brothers, Thor star Chris Hemsworth and Neighbors star Luke Hemsworth, staged an intervention in April to persuade their brother to call off the marriage. 

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth got engaged in June, after delaying for nearly four years, but Liam Hemsworth's brothers staged an intervention about the relationship, and it seemed to have had the desired affect.

Miley Cyrus showed up at the 2013 Met Gala awards without her star-fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, sparking rumors the star-crossed duo are on the rocks. 

But an insider told E! Online that no such intervention ocurred, and the insider insisted Liam Hemsworth's family, including Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth, are supportive of the union. 

The source claims the Hemsworth family has been "very welcoming to the entire Cyrus family."

The Miley Cyrus - Liam Hemsworth engagement is still on, they continued, but the pair have yet to set a wedding date. 

The purported split between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth has been fueled by her solo appearance at the Met Gala Ball earlier this month--where she rocked a new spiked short hair 'do for the punk rock themed gala--and the frequent absence of Miley Cyrus' engagement ring given to her by Liam Hemsworth. 

But Cyrus told Elle Magazine UK that it's not a sign of trouble. "It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed," the 20-year-old pop and "Twerk" star said, "But we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it anymore." 

The Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth wedding will go ahead, even as reports continue to surface that they've split up.
