Jia's Contract With JYP Expires, Departs From Miss A

Jia's time with Miss A and JYP has come to an end.

Jia (27), one of the Chinese members of four-member girl group Miss A, has decided against renewing her exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment, who she has been signed with for the past six years. As a result, she has left Miss A as well.

JYP Entertainment confirmed that Jia's contract expired on May 20 as well, citing that both sides decided not to renew the contract. In the future, Jia is planning to promote alone, without any connection to Miss A.

Although Miss A is planning to continue promoting as a trio, the group does not currently have any album or upcoming release in the works at the moment, due to each of the members being busy with individual projects.

Fortunately for fans, the other members of the group won't be leaving JYP anytime soon. According to a in-depth investigation by Korean media outlet Star News, Fei, the other Chinese member of the group, has already resigned with JYP.

The remaining two members of the group, Suzy and Min, will decide whether or not to renew their contracts in 2017.
