Neil Patrick Harris Will Host 67th Annual Tony Awards; Harris Hosting Awards Show For Fourth Time

Neil Patrick Harris is becoming a staple at the Tony Awards. The actor will host the 67th Annual Tony Awards, which will take place on June 9 at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. It marks the fourth time that Neil Patrick Harris has hosted the Tony Awards; he previously hosted the show in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Harris has received generally positive reviews during his Tony hosting stints. In 2011, the Los Angeles Times deemed him as "wickedly witty," while the Salt Lake Tribune called him "funny, charming, talented and cool under pressure." However, the New York Daily News said that it took him "less than a minute...to send America to the remote."

The actor said that he was delighted to be hosting the Tonys once again.

"I'm very excited to be back hosting the Tony Awards at the legendary Radio City Music Hall. It'll be more impressive than ever -- if my math is correct, it will be 267 times bigger than last year," said Harris. "Oh, wait. No, that can't... hold on... carry the one... I'm awful at math. But rest assured, the show will rock!"

Harris is best known for his title role in Doogie Howser, M.D., which ran from 1989-1993. After a relative career lull, his popularity soared once again when he appeared in the 2004 flick Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. He parlayed that into a main role as Barney Stinson on CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which he has starred in since 2005.

He confirmed that he is gay in 2006 and has been with his partner, David Burka, since 2004. They had fraternal twins via a surrogate mother in 2010.
