"Biggest Loser" couple Sam and Stephanie Poueu are getting a divorced after just one year of marriage. The "Loser" couple met during the show collectively losing 241 pounds. Divorce news arrives two months before the arrival of their first child.

The divorce comes as a shock to their fans that have been rooting for them after their dramatic weight loss, pregnancy, and Sam's near death experience after falling down four stories.  

"Biggest Loser" couple Sam Poueu, 28, and Stephanie Anderson, 33, met during 2010's ninth season of "The Biggest Loser" season, and got married April 2012. The couple started dating on the third episode of the show and Sam proposed to Stephanie on the hit program's season finale.

It was a heart-warming moment that fans just couldn't get enough of. The split is even more shocking after watching what the "Loser" couple has lived through together, beating all odds. 

Seven-month-pregnant Anderson released a statement announcing their split:

"It is with great sadness that my marriage to Sam Poueu is ending,' Anderson said. "Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy during this difficult time."

After collectively losing 241 pounds in body weight on The Biggest Loser, Sam and Stephanie Anderson seemed to be on their way to a long and happy life together. Sam lost a whopping 136 pounds on the program, while Stephanie dropped a staggering 100 pounds, simultaneously losing more than two human sized people together.

The couple announced this past January that they would welcome their first child in July.

Then out of the blue on In September 2011, Sam fell from a roof at a party, leaving him with serious, nearly fatal injuries. Stephanie stuck by his side the whole time in the hospital. He was hospitalized with a punctured lung, severed kidney, shattered pelvis, fractured tibia, and traumatic brain injury after his accident.  The pair wed shortly after the traumatic event, hoping to put their stressful days to rest.

"It put everything back into perspective. I felt like this was one of the many reasons God kept me alive during the five-story fall, so I could be the father of my wife's baby," Sam said after his shocking near fatal incident.

"Just from the experience of her being my caretaker post-accident, it was a dead giveaway that she'd be a fantastic mother," Sam said of Stephanie when they announced the pregnancy.

Stephanie said he took great care of her early on in her pregnancy when she was "too exhausted to do anything.'

Stephanie said: "It is such a joy and a testament to what we've been through that we've been able to go through some of the hardest chapters in our lives and start this new chapter with such positivity. It's exciting. It means the world to both of us. We met to fall in love and start this family."

Why the couple is splitting after all their dual and highly publicized turmoil remains a mystery.  Sources say between April and this May the couple hit a rocky road. But fans of the show can not imagine what possible reasons there could be to split up this fairytale love affair.
