Psy's 'Happening' Concert and 'Gentleman' MV Get the OK for TV

On May 8, the TV network content review committee has ruled that Psy's solo concert, 'Happening,' is allowed to play during 'teen viewing' times during the day and late evening. The decision also includes the nod to play the music video of "Gentleman" which has caused much controversy in the reviewing process at KBS which eventually rated it R after two reviews.

An associate from the review committee announced, "From the meeting that was held yesterday, the contents of the concert as well as the music video were deemed acceptable to be viewed by teens. The civil appeal was originally for the sexual contents in the music video."

It has been reported that the inquisition branch of the committee had requested a correction to parts of the content of the music video on May 1. The final ruling, however, disregarded the recommendation. "Their request was considered but, as is usually the case, it is not always reflected in whole."

Earlier in April, M-Net broadcast Psy's 'Happening' concert live and aired the world premiere of the music video "Gentleman." Since its release, the music video has been involved in debates about impropriety regarding sexual content and public immorality.
