Green Day Vocalist Calls Psy 'Musical Herpes', Psy Says 'OK'

The lead vocalist of American punk rock band Green Day has called Psy the 'musical herpes.' Herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that causes blisters in various parts of the body and is extremely difficult to get rid of.

On May 8 via Instagram, Billy Joe Armstrong posted a picture of Psy alongside the caption: "This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway."

In response to a hateful remark, however, Psy said thanks and did not seem to be too bothered by it. On air with Fuse TV, an American music channel, Psy was asked what he thought about the comment made by the Green Day vocalist.

Not familiar with the English term of the disease, Psy asked what the word herpes meant. After being explained the definition, Psy simply answered that he kind of likes it and that it is cool.

Green Day, who debuted in 1991, has a number of accolades including Grammy's Record of the Year in 2009 and Best Rock Album in 2010.
