Disney princess turned sexy pop icon, Selena Gomez has been turning heads and making headlines in the past couple of weeks with bold moves and sexy choices with her budding entertainment career.

A few weeks ago, Gomez's new perfume advertisement featured the pop princess in a soaking wet dress and is much sexier than her fans are used to. Dressed in a silky purple wet dress, and sultry eyes, Gomez seems to be breaking into her new adult pop career.

The ad was released on the eve of her new fragrance, "Selena Gomez," being released at Macy's.

Gomez seems to be making many strides to pull away from her bubblegum pop princess image since her Wizards of Waverly Place days, but some choices have not been received as well as others.

At the MTV Movie Awards, Gomez deputed her new song, "Come & Get It" with a worldly inspired performance landing young Gomez in the hot seat with the Hindu leaders at the Universal Society.

Gomez was deemed "culturally insensitive" after adorning a bindi during her performance.

"The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance," Hindu statesman Rajan Zed told WENN according to The Huffington Post. "It is also sometimes referred to as the third eye and the flame, and it is an auspicious religious and spiritual symbol... It is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed. Selena should apologize and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions."

In response to the harsh criticism, Gomez declined to feature the religious headpiece in her music video for "Come & Get It" and has since been praised by the Hindu leaders at the Universal Society.

As a young pop star heading into adulthood and a mature musical career, Gomez seems to be on the right path to a very successful entertainment life.

Gomez's world tour started May 7th and will hit the U.S. on October 12 in Washington D.C.
