Dara was in Bangkok, Thailand a couple of days ago for a Head & Shoulders campaign and when she stepped out for some fresh air after a day of filming, she saw a 2NE1 dance cover performance which made her feel extra emotional.
The 2NE1 idol recounted how she was overwhelmed by the experience at the sight of the performers giving it all to the group's music. And while no mention of Minzy's recent departure was made, fans could not help but make the connection.
"Yesterday after we finished off our filming for my advertisement recording in a studio. Our staffs went to sightseeing in Bangkok, somewhere on the street we heard 2NE1 music so at that time I was like 'Oh what's that? Did the members arrive?' and going behind I saw Thai students matching our song with performance on stage," began Dara, according to an English fan translation of her original Instagram post on June 27.
"I wanted to show it so I filmed this video to show.. Aah... What is this feeling.. It feels really nice~ while the performers were having a blast on stage at the same time.. it tugged my heart and my tears dropped. Holding on 2NE1's pride and to the Blackjacks we like, we are really thankful and also to all members that I miss and want to stand on a stage together.. mixed emotion while watching this video... Thank u Blackjacks," ended Dara.
Minzy departed from the group in April and revealed that it was only after "careful consideration and much deliberation" that she decided to pursue a solo artist under the name of Minzy Kong.
YG Entertainment has confirmed that Dara, CL and Bom will be continuing on as 2NE1 and will be mounting a comeback as a trio.
"Breaking my heart," "Miss 2NE1 so much.. I'll always support you and wait for your comeback," "Come back home Minzy," wrote fans in response to Dara's post.
