Robert Griffin III to marry his fiancé this summer, according to what his mother said in an interview with FoxDC.

RG III's mother, Jackie, revealed to FoxDC that Robert Griffin III will marry Rebecca Liddicoat in July.

"You would never know, based on his press conferences and everything he does in the media, but he still has that shyness to him and that quietness to him," she explained in the interview about her son keeping the marriage quiet. "He loves being at home, quiet and to himself. That hasn't changed."

RG III proposed to Liddicoat during his 2010 season at Baylor, after the team clinched its first bowl game in 14 years.

"I didn't want to do it on the field like the big cliché. So actually did it after the game, brought her to our indoor facility," Griffin III told Jay Leno about his marriage proposal. "I tried to trick her by saying that we were going to do something that the whole team was going to do at the (facility) after we won."

RG III explained to Leno that he was able to keep the plan going even after they arrived to an empty stadium.

"No one was there when we showed up, but she still believed me. Had a guy in there playing guitar; I sung her a song; had candles in the middle of the field with her family and my family holding them. Had to do it the right way."

Robert Griffin III underwent successful knee surgery in January that included a direct repair of his LCL and ACL after he suffered the injury in a wildcard playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks in January following his rookie season in the NFL.
