Seth MacFarlane Reunites With Universal To Put Out A Western After The Success Of "Ted" Last Summer: Who Else Will Star In The Movie Along With The Creator Of "Family Guy"

Seth MacFarlane reunites with Universal to put out a western film next summer.

The name of the film is "A Million Ways to Die in the West," which Seth MacFarlane reunites with Universal, which the company will co-finance and distribute the western, Universal announced Friday. The studio will release the movie on May 30, 2014 in North America, according to TheWrap.com.

Seth MacFarlane reunites with Universal for the second time, coming off the success of the film "Ted" that was released in theatres last summer, which grossed $549 million worldwide. MacFarlane is taking the fame as the creator and the voice of many characters on "Family Guy" and making the transition to the movie screen. He was off to a successful start with "Ted" and now Universal wants to give it another try.

In the western, MacFarlane will co-write, direct and produce the film, according to TheWrap. Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman and Giovanni Ribisi will also star in the film.

This movie will be a reunion of sorts as "Ted" producers Scott Stuber and Jason Clark and co-writers Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin will all fill the same duties for "A Million Ways to Die in the West." Media Rights Capital, which is co-financing, also co-financed "Ted."
