Young, impressionable and rising. That just about says it all of this Kpop sensation. And like many people of the new generation, he has passions full of vigor and zeal. What about fanaticism? Maybe.
Lee Sung-yeol, born 1991, raised in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, more popularly known as Sungyeol, is a talented singer and actor. His popularity rose as a member of the Kpop boy band Infinite, then later one of the founding members of the sub group, Infinite F.
Sungyeol has just revealed to the many fans that he himself is a tarot card enthusiast. "I go to get tarot card readings at times; not too long ago, I even went to a famous place in Gangnam. I go because it's fascinating and I wonder if it is really true." stated Sungyeol.
To enlighten the ones who don't have much know how on what tarot card readings are about and what can be anticipated from this, here is a quick rundown.
Tarot card readings are based on Tarotology, which is a subset of Cartomacy. Whoa slow down! Going too deep there with words even I've never heard of until I started researching for this article.
To break it down, Taratology is the practice of using Tarot cards to gain insight into the past, present or future by posing a question to the cards.
Many famous celebrities from around the globe are known to be enthusiastic about the psychic realm as well. It's not a secret that people are fascinated by otherworldly endeavors. Movies like "Afterlife" and television shows such as "Ghost Whisperer" and "Medium" have held viewer captivated with storiess of spiritual interaction.
Now back to Sungyeol.
Comedian, MC and DJ, Kim Shin Young said,"His ears are thin, so he believes people easily. He goes to every famous person in each district. What an amazing child. A rare person."
Surely, a wide eyed, impressionable youngster Sungyeol is. The inquisitiveness and vigor that the new generation has is such a thing of wonder for someone older like I am. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia as it reminds me of my own formative years. Fans can just hope this new zeal doesn't lead to fanaticism.
