The last time that YG had garnered attention of this magnitude from their girl group was back when 2ne1 were at the height of their careers. Unfortunately though, 2ne1 member Minzy had recently decided to leave the group to pursue a solo career which left the 2ne1 on a hiatus.
2ne1 had become a tremendous force in the world of Kpop and have become popular all over the world, even managing to break into the U.S. Their success had produced several world tours. But seeing as the remaining members mainly C.L., Dara, and Park Bom are currently busy with individual projects, it may take quite a while for the girl group to return. Their absence however, has become a blessing to BLACKPINK who are now being dubbed as the next 2ne1 and are expected to achieve or maybe even surpass the success of the latter.
