TWICE tops the chart and breaks the YouTube record with their new single “TT”

Girl group TWICE tops the November music chart in Korea with their new single “TT” from their third album. They also breaks the record in YouTube.

The nine-member girl group from JYP Entertainment TWICE tops the November chart in Korea. Their new single “TT” from their latest album “TWICEcoaster : LANE 1”topped the Korean music chart in second week of November. They toppled BTS single “Blood Sweat and Tears” and “Very, Very, Very’ from girl group IOI.

Meanwhile the group also scored another record this week as reported by KBS News. TWICE broke the record after the music video of “TT” reached 50 millions views on Nov. 14 within 21 days after it was first published on Oct. 23. That was the shortest period of time that for K-Pop act to reach 50 million views on YouTube.

This new record surpassed their long reigning single “Cheer Up” that took 57 days and 14 hours to reach 50 million views according to Seoul Daily News. The music video of “Cheer Up” which was also their debut single is expected to reach 100 million views this week.

TWICE has been one of the most phenomenal girl group idol in Korea lately. Formed from the Mnet reality show “Sixteen” which designated to become a competition event between JYP trainee to create a new girl group.

After the reality show ended, seven trainees were selected as the member of the new JYP girl group. Momo and Tzuyu joined the group later to make TWICE a nine-member group.

TWICE debuted in October 2015 and gained a huge success in a short time with their girly look and cheerleader style. They also reached a commercial success afte a month of its debut with a 1.8 billion won ($1.6 million) commercial endorsement contracts from various products.
