Reese Witherspoon, 37, has turned in her brunette locks for her signature blond hair again. Reese is doing major damage control to restore her good girl image after her arrest and the lighter shade might be helping.  

The release of the newly blond actress's movie "Mud" takes place soon and all of Witherspoon's actions are being analyzed, including going back to blond.  It is believed that Witherspoon dyed her hair back to seperate herself from the infamous brunette mugshot and shocking arrest.

The 37-year-old Oscar winner quietly debuted her back-to-blonde locks while watching son Deacon's soccer match in Brentwood Saturday.

A source told Mail Online: 'Reese is so relieved to be back to blonde, she feels like it sums up the core of who she is and that her momentary transgression with the police can be forever linked to the dark-haired alter-ego. She feels that that happened to another person now.'

Witherspoon looked casual in a blue-and-white gingham shirt and summery white shorts, tucking her just-dyed tresses under a straw fedora. The Legally Blonde star is currently on break from filming her latest movie The Good Lie in Atlanta, the same city where she was now infamously arrested last month.

The blond hair not Reese's only attempt of changing her look to earn back her fans. She was spotted at LAX airport wearing an Atlanta Police Department hat on last Saturday, days after her arrest video was released. 

The fashion statement came days after Witherspoon's arrest tape was leaked and broadcast nationwide. The usually straight-laced actress was impolite to a police office and now the Oscar winner's team is taking action to salvage her good girl image.

The Witherspoon arrest video was obtained by TMZ from Atlanta law enforcement. The video shows Reese's husband being arrested for a DUI and Witherspoon jumping out of the car to assist him.  What she really did was interrupt the police investigation and Reese was slammed with an "obstruction" violation.

It was more like an episode of "Cops" that an Academy Award winning performance.

Witherspoon, who later admitted she was severely drunk told Good Morning America that she was "saying all kinds of crazy things." And crazy it was indeed.  Also spoiled, rude, and arrogant. Here's how the interaction went down:

 Reese: "Do you know my name sir?"

Officer: "Don't need to know."

Reese "You don't NEED to know my name?"

Officer: "Not quite yet."

Reese: "YOU'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!"

Reese: "I have done nothing against the law."

Officer: "Yes you did, you didn't obey my orders."

Reese: "I HAVE TO OBEY YOUR ORDERS??"

Reese: "I'm now being arrested and handcuffed??"

Reese: "I'm an American citizen ... I'm allowed to stand on American ground."

Reese: "You better not arrest me."

Reese: "I'm being anti-American?"

Officer: "Yes, please sit down."

Reese: "Wow!"

Reese: "You're harassing me as an American citizen"

And the best line -- "I'm obstructing your justice?"

After Reese's tirade, Jim actually told the cop, "I'm sorry, I had nothing to do with that!"

During the arrest, Reese also told the cop she was pregnant and needed to pee.  She later confessed on "GMA" that she panicked and said "crazy things" because her husband was being arrested.
