To further one's education when one is in the entertainment industry is unthinkable. Rehearsals, promotions, concerts rule most of the time. It is a surprise, then, when artists who are listed active in the academe still do well.
However, students' negative feedback to such a good performance shocked Kyuhyun of Super Junior, who is now attending university for his masters studies.
While working to promote his third solo album "Waiting Still" on "Cut Two," Kyuhyun is quick to share how he earned bashers in school just recently. It was a reaction to a listener who shared the incident on the show.
Finding a relaxed schedule enabled him to go ahead and work on his required paperwork. He narrated that his professor praised him for doing the assignment on time, which was then followed by hate responses from his fellow schoolmates.
Why? As a recognized name in the entertainment business, he earned their curiosity: how does he manage to juggle time onstage and still have the stamina to keep up with school work?
Kyuhyun joins the ranks of other K-Pop performers who will soon possess post-graduate degrees while being role models in the field of entertainment. He will be in the same court as "Jewel in the Palace" lead actress Lee Yung Ae, who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cinema at Han Yang University.
Another idol in that league is Changmin of QTVXQ, who at the moment is on the list of students pursuing masters and doctorate degrees in Korea's Inha University under its dual degree program.
Although he expresses the mood for taking things slow while he remembers and waits for someone that he loves in his new solo album, it looks like the word slow can never halt Kyuhyun in how he hurdles school seriously.
