A former member of the first-generation idol group H.O.T., Moon Hee-Jun, announced his engagement with current idol girl group member Soyul from Crayon Pop. They set a date for the wedding on February next year.
The 38-year old singer and host made a surprising news as he announced his engagement with Soyul, his 13 years senior. Even his band mate Tony An was surprised as reported by Segye. During the shooting of 'Lipstick Prince" beauty makeover program on Monday, Nov. 28, An said he was surprised but happy with Moon.
"That was surprising because, for me, I need to ponder a lot before making the decision to get married," An said. "But I want him to be happy and also all the members."
Meanwhile, after his out of the blue announcement, Moon explained more detail about his decision in the radio talk show as reported by KBS News. He admitted that he was not prepared to get married, but after the announcement he must be ready. Moreover, his future wife Soyul is his 13 years junior in the industry.
Soyul, whose real name is Park Hye-Kyeong is the member of current idol group Crayon Pop which was debuted in 2012. Crayon Pop is managed by Chrome Entertainment, the artist management arm of CJ E&M company.
Moon is the member of first generation idol group H.O.T. which is an abbreviation of "High-five Of Teenagers" in mid-1990. H.O.T is the forerunner of the Korean idol group along with g.o.d., Sech Kies, NRG, and Shinhwa. Five of them are considered as the ancestor of Korean idol group and highly respected by the new generation idol group.
