On November 24, BLACKJACKS all over the globe were stunned as YG Entertainment released the news of 2NE1's disbandment.
Speculations of the disbandment arose as soon as Minzy left the group in April this year. Now that the well-loved first girl group under YG Entertainment has disbanded, fans can't help but worry about their idols' current status especially when it comes to their respective careers.
As of the recent news, YG Entertainment revealed that CL and Dara just renewed their contracts and will still do recordings and albums in the future under them. However, Park Bom didn't renewed hers according to Officially K-Music.
CL, as the group's leader, was definitely saddened by what happened. She also further explained that 2NE1 still tried to create an album before their disbandment as part of their gratitude towards their fans all over the world, however, it didn't reach the perfect timing.
Also, both CL and Dara tried to interact with their disappointed and saddened fans over their personal social networking sites accounts. Both of them released their personalized letters explaining the sad outcome.
Here's CL's letter as posted on her official Twitter account:
Currently working in the Philippines as a host of a talent show, Dara still made time to address her fans regarding this news. She posted a hand written letter in hangul.
Soompi provided a translation of this letter which says:
Blackjacks... have always loved us, supported us, and protected us. We wanted to give you guys some great music one last time to show our gratitude, but I'm so sorry that we unfortunately were unable to... I know it hurts right now... but I hope you will all be strong, be brave, eat well, and do your best. My feelings for you all will never change. I will do my best to only show you good things. Words cannot express my gratitude for you. Thank you so much for your love, [you've given me] more than I deserve.
Some good things will really reach their respective end and so does for 2NE1. Despite this sad happening, let's wish the girls all the best for their future careers. Hwaiting!
