What is the fastest-growing baby name in the U.S. today? According to the Social Security Administration, King and Messiah are amongst the fastest-rising baby names in the nation today for American boys.

The said names are just a little behind Major, which is the male name that jumped the most spots on the Social Security Administration’s annual list of popular baby names.

According to the SSA, however, Jacob is still the most popular name for boys while Sophia, is the name of choice for girls. The annual list was released May 10 to the public.

It was Jacob’s 14th straight year at the top of the baby names list. Next were Mason, Ethan, Noah and William as choice for names. Liam cracked the top 10 for the first time, ranking number 6. The name Sophia was the second consecutive year at the top for girls, with Emma, Isabelle, Olivia and Ava coming after the top-rated girl name.
