Choi Jin-Hyuk is reported to consider offer to play in the OCN crime drama "Tunnel" after finishing his military conscription duty. Actress Lee Yoo-Young was also approached as the lead female character.
Choi has just recently discharged from the Army after serving his mandatory military conscription. According to YTN, he was discharged earlier than normal service duty because of his knee injury. He has received the offer to play in "Tunnel" which slated to air in March 2017, and he still considers the offer.
This drama will be his first project after return to the entertainment industry. In the "Tunnel" according to Korea Daily, he will play the role of police detective Park Kwang-Ho. Lee will play psychological lecturer Shin Jae-Yi who lives in England and return to Korea to teach in Korea.
The 30-year old actor is known for his role in 2013 SBS drama "The Heirs" and tvN's "Emergency Couple" in 2014. Choi was enlisted for military duty on March 31, 2015, served as an active duty soldier. However seven months after his assignment, the army discharged him due to his injured knee.
He is now fully recovered, and Choi is ready to come back to show business.
While for Lee, this will be her debut drama. Since she started her acting career in 2012, she only played in the movie, particularly short film. She made her breakout role in 2014 with "Late Spring" playing a model for an art project, which earned her Best Actress at the 14th Milan International Film Festival.
Should they agree to play, this will be the first time for Lee and Choi to collaborate in a drama. Choi who was building his career in the drama will be more comfortable to return to the small screen. As for Lee, this role will give her opportunity to increase her popularity in Korea.
