On December 8, YouTube revealed the list of top-10 K-pop music videos. The list included most loved MVs and videos in South Korea for the year 2016.
There were many explosive releases by various K-pop artists this year who made their way to stardom, as well as artists who maintained their reputation as a chart-topper.
South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainments, TWICE's MVs for "Cheer up" and "TT" were placed first and third respectively in the ranking. The Music Video for "Cheer Up" became the fastest K-pop group music video to reach 100 million views. They will be releasing a Christmas edition of TWICE coaster: LANE 1 on December 19th.
G-Friend a six-member girl group's "Rough" was placed at the second spot while "Navillera" secured the tenth rank. Rough was most downloaded song in the first half of the year according to Mnet. "Navillera" won them the first music show.
Red Velvet's "Russian Roulette" ranked 7th in the list. It bought the K-pop outfit to the World Albums chart, where they debuted at no. 2 on the chart.
Descendants of the Sun also made it to the list with Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's Love theme song, "Always" by Yoon Mi Rae's and Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won's Theme song, Davichi's "This Love," ranked in fourth and eight respectively.
On the fifth spot is MC The Max's rock ballad, "No Matter Where" which during its release was spotted on #1 on various musical digital sites like Bugs, MelOn, Genie, Naver Music, Mnet Music, Olleh, Soribada.
While on sixth its Lim Chang Jung's "The Love I Committed." Zico's "I Am You, You Are Me" took the ninth spot.
