Astronaut Chris Hadfield Covers "Space Oddity", Lands Safely [WATCH VIDEO]

Chris Hadfield covered David Bowie's Space Oddity from, well, space. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has just safely returned to Earth after five months on board the International Space Station, and he made a music video to commemorate his imminent return voyage and last hours in zero gravity. You can watch the video below.

Chris Hadfield, possibly the most awesome astronaut anywhere of all time, has lots of fans-while at the space station, he's been Tweeting and posting videos that have garnered a huge following. He's also recently held a singalong from space with Canadian schoolchildren. Wow.

And his David Bowie Space Oddity cover might just top the singalong, even if we're sure Canadian schoolkids are adorable and so on. In the video, he sings his own very-appropriate adaption to Bowie's classic song and plays his guitar while floating around the spaceship. This is Ground Control to Major Tom, indeed. Rather than being goofy, the astronaut looks a little sad or plaintive, like he'll miss being in space. The video instantly went viral. Now that Hadfield is back on Earth, we have a feeling great things are in store. Thankfully, his spaceship knew which way to go.
