Actor Hyun Bin received an offer to play the role of astronauts in the new drama “City of Stars.” But he has not decided to join the drama which will be directed by veteran director and screenwriter Jang-Jin,.
The drama will is in the pre-production soon and up to now there is no TV station that will air the new drama. Veteran director Jang-Jin, who is skillful to direct variety of genre, is currently casting the actors and actresses to play for his new project. Hyun-Bin has been offered to play the leading role according to report from News1. He has not made the decision to join yet.
Hyun-Bin is currently busy promoting his new movie “Confidential Assignment” which he played a North Korean police detective Im Chul-Ryung who was sent to South Korea to catch a Chinese fugitive played by Kim Ju-Hyeok. He played with Yu Hae-Jin who becomes his counterpart, South Korean police Kang Jin-Tae.
Currently Hyun-Bin made the news when his relationhip with actress Kang So-Ra was announced. During the film promotion in Seoul last week, he jokingly said that he was afraid that his personal news has taken over the film promotion as reported by Yonhap News Agency.
The movie “Confidential Assignment” is scheduled to release in Januay next year. Afterward, he still has another project to finish, the movie "Ggoon." Therefore, he may be busy to switch between the project.
The drama “City of Stars” is the first drama project directed by Jang-Jin. He is the acclaimed screenwriter, producer and movie director who has been working on many successful projects. His most notable project is the 2005 movie “Welcome to Dongmakgol” which he produced and wrote. His latest movie project is the 2014 comedy “We Are Brothers.”
Recently the 45-year old director is the creative director of comedy program SNL Korea. Jang-Jin wanted Hyun-Bin to play in his first drama “City of Stars” as the lead character.
