Two singers who are best friends, Gummy and Hwanhee appeared in the MBC cooking show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” Episode 111 to share their story with the delicious food cooked by famous chef.
Both singer engaged in the candid conversation, in the Episode 111 aired on Dec. 26. Gummy and Hwanhee admitted that they someties coveted each others’ song. The singers are known to be very close and call each other by their real name.
Gummy, whose real name is Park Ji-Yeon has a nickname “OST Queen” due her consecutive sucess in many popular original soundtrack from many dramas. One of the recent hits is “You Are My Everything” from two KBS dramas “Descendants of the Sun” and the titular song “Love in the Moonlight.”
One of the chef who host show, ask the singer who has been in the relationship with actor Jo Jung-Suk about the origin of her nickname name, Gummy (거미-geomi), which means spider in Korean. She jokingly said that she has the ability to draw people into the web with her singing skills on stage and entangled the audience.
Meanwhile, Hwanhee whose real name is Hwang Yoon-Seok is the member of R&B duo Fly to the Sky (FTTS). He also revealed the origin of his nickname as also reported by Seoul Daily News. He said that his nickname Hwanhee (환희) which means joy was given by founder of SM Entertainment, Lee So-Man before his debut.
Hwanhee debuted in 1999 in a duet group with Brian Joo named Fly to the Sky (FTTS). The group was managed by SM Entertainment until 2004 and Hwanhee went solo career and began his acting career, while Fly to the Sky is managed by PFull Entertainment and released one album “ No Limitations” in 2007. Afterward, the group went on a long hiatus until reunited under Hwanhee current agency H2 Media in 2014 with their new album "Continiuum."
